Kia SP2i spotted again, gives us a clear look at its dual-tone alloy wheels [Update]
IndianAuto has spotted a test mule of the Kia SP2i on the roads of New Delhi. The latest spy images give us a better look at the 18-inch dual-tone machined alloy wheels of the new model.
So far, the multiple sightings of the Kia SP2i have revealed that the new model would be available with three wheel configurations. From the looks of it, the top-spec version will be sold with a set of stylish multi-spoke alloy wheels, while the mid-tier versions, in all likelihood, would feature less sophisticated set of rims. The base version, which was spotted recently, would have steel wheels with plastic covers. Moreover, the alloys sported by the recently seen test mule have the same design as the rims of the recently unveiled Kia SP Signature concept.
The Kia SP Signature has even previewed some of the production-ready details of the Kia SP2i. The latest show car comes with the conventional pull-type door handles and a greenhouse that tapers towards the rear. It also features an updated design for the faux exhaust ports and various chrome appliques spread across the exterior. Its front-end mirrors that of the SP Concept to a large extent but gets smaller headlamp pods and a slightly different bumper.
On the inside, the Kia SP2i will feature a handful of high-end features, including a 360-degree camera, head-up display, ambient lighting, WiFi and wireless charging. The new model will go on sale with two engine options - 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. At a later stage, the company will reportedly launch a performance-focussed variant that will be powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDI turbocharged direct injection petrol engine.
Underpinning the Kia SP2i is an updated version of the Hyundai Creta's architecture. While the repurposed platform will also support the next-gen Creta, it could also underpin a seven-seater version of the SP2i.
